Since 2015, The Earl Besch Food Pantry has honored the work of the same-named long-time Camp Hill resident who was committed to serving the needs of students in the Camp Hill School District. A large team of dedicated volunteers, led by Camp Hill resident Lynette Pertschi, currently operates the food pantry, housed at Camp Hill United Methodist Church, and with the financial assistance of the Earl Besch Memorial Fund at The Lion Foundation, which provides support to Camp Hill School District schools.

Through a newly signed partnership agreement, Camp Hill School District, Camp Hill United Methodist Church, New Hope Ministries, and The Lion Foundation will build upon The Earl Besch Food Pantry’s birth and growth, continuing to develop the pantry as a best-practice food pantry that promotes food security for students of the district and their families and provides volunteer and service-learning opportunities for district students. The Pantry will operate twice a month and provide additional case management, housing, basic needs, stability, and employment services for eligible families.

The Earl Besch Food Pantry will continue to make every effort to collaborate with wider Camp Hill community organizations, businesses, and churches, welcoming new volunteers while also continuing engagement with existing volunteers in the Camp Hill community.

Representatives from each of the collaborating organizations participated in a public Signing Day at The Earl Besch Food Pantry, demonstrating a commitment to this new partnership benefiting the Camp Hill School District community. You can watch the video here.
