“I have no food and I don’t know where to turn for help.”

These words were shared by a family with children. They were shattered by their circumstances and desperate for help. This past year has been an incredibly busy time for us having served 7,745 families in need, an increase of over 30% over the previous year. Not only do we provide help with healthy food, financial assistance, and kindness, we also provide HOPE and support to build a better life.

In Nehemiah 6, the prophet is leading the work of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem and prays to God, “Now strengthen my hands.” We know how that feels. The work of caring for our neighbors can be long and hard. Every day people come to our doors who are facing hunger, homelessness, and every kind of crisis. Just two chapters later in chapter 8, verse 10, Nehemiah exhorts God’s people with the well-known words, “… the joy of the Lord is your strength.” When we are able to share help with our neighbors, not only do we give hope, we share God’s love!

We hope you, too, find joy in the Lord and that joy would lead you to share in our work of fighting poverty and hunger and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Will you please lend a hand today with a kind and generous donation? Your gift today will help families desperately seeking help and hope at New Hope Ministries – thank you!

We need to pray Nehemiah’s prayer. And we would be grateful for your prayers and help, that our hands would be strengthened and we would be equipped to serve in these times of need.
