Multiply Meals During Our Spring Matching Challenge

May 9, 2018 | 0 Comments

One of our guests, disabled and unable to work, was recently shopping for her family at our food pantry. She discovered a 6-pound whole beef tenderloin on our shelves – an extravagance she never expected to find or enjoy right now. Based on her family size of five, she added the tenderloin to her shopping cart, along with the usual fresh vegetables, fruits, and bread available in our pantry. After she unpacked the groceries at home, she carefully portioned out eight cuts of steak.

Now read the rest of the story in her words:

“Never, in my wildest dreams, would I have ever dreamed of eating what our culture considers elegant cuisine, now that our financial situation has been permanently impacted. Yet, there I was, serving it to my family, with healthy sides, and topped with homemade garlic butter. If it wasn’t for the compassion of our community using New Hope as the proper vehicle, my family would have missed out. Thank you. Donors do make a difference. Clients do receive blessings.

I’m reminded of Psalm 107:9: “For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” How our community blesses our guests with an extravagant love! Your joyful support of New Hope Ministries helps families feeling helpless and hopeless enjoy unexpected blessings like this.

Will you help us continue to share God’s love by feeding the hungry? Click here to make your online gift today.

This spring, we have several community-minded donors who have stepped-up to the plate so that your gift will be multiplied. The first $20,600 received in donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Please prayerfully consider a gift today to help your neighbors in need.
