A Car Can Change a Life

Oh, that smile! We first met Dena when she enrolled her children in our summer youth program. As we started to get to know her better, we found out her current job was not meeting her needs and we talked to her about our Certified Nurse Aide program. She was already caring for her father and was passionate about helping people, so it was a perfect fit. She started her preclinical education classes but then her car stopped working completely and needed thousands of dollars in repairs. She was defeated. How would she get to our preclinical classes, how was she going to support her children? It was then that we received a donated car at New Hope. We were able to provide that car to Dena so she could continue her preclinical classes and have transportation to get back and forth to work! When we first told Dena that we had a car for her, she thought we were joking – she just could not believe it. She was overjoyed and simply astounded by the generosity bestowed upon her. 

It is because of YOU that the genuine smile of joy is seen on Dena’s face.  Thank you for supporting our programs that give people the chance to get back on their feet again!
