Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 4, 2026

New Hope Ministries Inc. ("New Hope," "we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of our guests and community. This policy describes information handled through nhm-pa.org, direct inquiries, and our service-related text messaging program. Additional program-specific or donor privacy notices may also apply to those activities. The SMS protections below apply to SMS information regardless of any broader information-sharing provision.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, mailing address, ZIP code, email address, telephone number, assistance inquiry, program participation information, and other information you choose to provide through online forms, signed paper/intake forms, email, telephone calls, or text messages.

For texting, we may also collect your mobile number, messaging preferences, consent records, message content, and delivery or opt-out records. Website and communications providers may process technical information needed to operate their services, such as IP addresses, browser information, timestamps, and delivery status.

2. How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, coordinate requested assistance, manage program participation, communicate appointments and food pickup details, send service and program updates to subscribers, maintain consent and unsubscribe records, protect our services, and meet applicable recordkeeping or legal obligations. We use the information relevant to the purpose for which it was provided.

3. Service-related SMS and your consent

Our New Hope Ministries Guest Services and Program Updates SMS program covers assistance inquiries, appointment reminders, food pickup information, enrollment and program participation updates, and subscribed informational notices about programs, pantry schedules, center closures, and service changes.

You may choose recurring service-related texts through a separate, optional SMS consent selection on an online signup form or a signed paper/intake form. Providing a telephone number, receiving assistance, making a donation, visiting our website, or accepting website terms alone does not enroll you. SMS consent is not required to receive assistance.

If you text us first, we may reply about your inquiry. That conversation does not automatically subscribe you to recurring announcements or donation requests. Recurring notifications require a separate opt-in. Service-texting consent does not authorize fundraising texts; any future fundraising SMS program requires its own disclosed enrollment and consent.

Message frequency varies with your requests and subscriptions. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. You may also contact us at 717-432-2087 or . See our SMS Terms and Conditions for additional messaging terms.

SMS Terms and Conditions

4. Sharing and protection of SMS information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information collected under this policy with third parties or affiliates for their marketing, advertising, promotional, or lead-generation purposes. We do not share mobile information or SMS opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, even if other information may be shared in another context.

We may disclose information to service providers only as needed to support our operations or deliver the services you request, including website hosting and SMS platforms and telecommunications carriers. These operational disclosures are limited to the service being provided and do not authorize independent marketing use of your mobile information or consent. We may also disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety. SMS consent is not transferred to another organization for its own messaging.

5. Cookies, embedded features, and external websites

Website functionality and embedded third-party features, such as maps or videos, may use cookies or similar technologies depending on the features you access and their configuration. Your browser settings can control or remove cookies, although some features may not function as expected.

Links and embedded services may lead to providers with their own privacy policies, including donation and volunteer platforms. Review the applicable provider policy before submitting information through those services. This policy does not describe every third-party website's practices.

6. Security and retention

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information. No website, electronic storage system, or SMS transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us for an appropriate way to provide sensitive documents rather than sending Social Security numbers, payment-card details, or sensitive records in an ordinary text message.

We retain information for the purposes described here and as needed for applicable recordkeeping, legal obligations, security, and dispute resolution. Consent and unsubscribe records may be retained to document preferences and prevent unwanted messages after an opt-out.

7. Your choices and requests

You may ask to access, correct, or delete your information, change your communications preferences, or withdraw SMS consent using the contact information below. We may need to verify your identity and will handle requests as required by applicable law. Some records may need to be retained for legal, program, or unsubscribe purposes. Opting out of texts does not affect your eligibility for assistance.

8. Changes to this policy

We will post revisions on this page and update the date above. We will provide additional notice when required by law. A policy update does not itself enroll you in a new SMS program or expand your texting consent.
